A best-selling book is being adapted into a TV show, making what fans thought to be fiction turn into a near reality.

“Daisy Jones and the Six” is a revealing and intriguing novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid centered around a fictional rock band in the ‘70s. The book is loosely based on band Fleetwood Mac, who broke up in the 80s but have since reunited.

The novel starts with following title character Daisy Jones through her early life. The reader learns of her natural talent for singing but also difficult home life. The novel then jumps perspectives to Billy Dunne, lead singer of the Six, following his early career and the start of the band.

The story fluctuates between the two characters until their eventual meeting and the creation of the band Daisy Jones and the Six. The novel delivers a touching story of happenings backstage, band dynamics, and journey through music.

Jenkins Reid formats the novel in an interview style where many character’s views are referenced throughout the story. Point of views will jump every few paragraphs or line, creating a diverse perspective in storytelling.

Since the novel’s 2019 release, the novel’s fan base has grown tremendously with over one million copies sold. Readers were thrilled because, as announced shortly after the book’s release, “Daisy Jones and the Six” would be coming to the screen.

On March 3, the “Daisy Jones and the Six” mini-series comes out on Amazon Prime Video. The show stars Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, as Daisy Jones and Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne.

The series is to allegedly be in a documentary style in which storyline will be cut with interviews from different characters. Many fans are excited for this format as it feels very true to the books premise.

Along with the series will come a full album of music, released by “Daisy Jones and the Six” (although written under many ghost producers and writers). The band's most famous song according to the book was “Regret Me,” which has since been released on streaming platforms.

Fans are thrilled with the prospects of the show, as seen on the sneak peek trailer released Jan. 25. The release of “Regret Me” has also garnered attention from fans, who are happy to finally hear how songs mentioned in the book may sound.

Overall, “Daisy Jones and the Six,” is a moving story which will be beloved by many. As stated in the trailer, “their music made them famous, but their breakup made them legends.”
