Known not only for her skills as a basketball player but also as a leader, senior Raven Morgan hopes to lead the team to success this season.
As she is the only member that has been on the varsity team for all four years, she is looked up to by her teammates.
“My leadership benefits the younger classmates because I think they have someone to look up to,” said Morgan.
Tuesday, the team was 6-0 in Section One of the Lancaster-Lebanon League and 10-3 overall.
“I think to achieve team goals the entire team needs to make the goals and work together to accomplish them and not just be one person,” said Morgan.
Morgan leads the team in scoring, averaging over 12 points per game.
“This season I think I worked a lot harder on my game than any other season I’ve played because it’s my senior year and I told myself I wanted to go out with a bang and I wanted to be remembered,” said Morgan. “I don’t want to be forgotten.”
As Morgan is preparing for matchups tonight against Penn Manor and Tuesday against Manheim Township, she also is working toward personal goals.
“For my personal goals, I just want to keep working at my game constantly and continue to get better as the season goes on,” said Morgan. “I personally feel that my season so far has been very successful and I’m very proud of how I have been playing.
“Even though I know I can do better I’m still proud.”
She has been focused on juggling schoolwork, as she attends full day Lebanon CTC alongside basketball. She hopes to attend college to become a nurse while playing basketball at the next level.
