Seniors lead basketball

Often seniors are looked up to by underclassmen. In the athletics world, seniors show leadership on their team both on and off the court.

Both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams welcome back six returning seniors to the court. With many games of varsity experience, they know how to show team leadership this season.

The boys’ team sends returning seniors Jaquan, Andino, Neisso Dorvil, Brody Dunlop, Logan Horn, Trey Kalbach and Devin Shay to the court for their fourth and final season.

“I love every kid on this team,” said senior Logan Horn. “Together we can accomplish our goals and do something special this year.”

This season, Dunlop and Horn will be leading the boys’ team as captains. Horn and Dunlop have been playing basketball together for the entire duration of their high school career.

“We have worked really well this preseason said senior Neisso Dorvil, I can’t wait to see everyone improve as the season progresses.”

Last year the boys’ basketball team had a record of 18-7. The boys plan to set the bar high for this season.

Seniors returning to the court for the girls’ team are: Molly Bucher, Kaitlin Kline, Raven Morgan, Madison Rambler, Morgan Thomson and Hannah Woelfling.

This year’s captains are Rambler and Woelfling.

“We have big goals this season,” said Rambler. “Of course we plan to win, but above everything else, we will continue to play as a team and always have each other’s back.”

Last season the girls held a record of 15-9.

“We put in a lot of hard work at practice,” said Kline. “We are hoping to bring all of what we do in practice to the court this year.”
