All hail the queen!
Friday Sept. 28, a new homecoming queen was crowned, senior Addison Atkins.
“I was extremely surprised when they announced my name,” said Atkins. “My dad had to kind of give me a little nudge forward, like, ‘hey they just called your name.’”
Outside of school, Atkins is involved in a large amount of social activities like Students for Christ, band, Blue chorus, and girls’ tennis. This may have encouraged many students to vote for her.
“Being involved in a lot of social activities is very important to me, you really get to meet a wide range of amazing people,” said Atkins.
Among the activities in which Atkins participates, one of her favorites is Students for Christ. The Students for Christ adviser, Gene Strait, was her escort to the pep rally.
“Students for Christ has been very special for me, considering that I met my favorite teacher through the club,” said Atkins.
The homecoming court this year had many deserving girls for the crown, but there really can only be one winner.
Though there was only one winner, all members of the court had traits that set them apart. Atkins enjoyed being in a group with them and felt the homecoming was a great experience.
“All of the other court members are such great individuals, any one of them could have won and I would be just as happy!” said Atkins.
